Common Entrance Test or Karnataka CET is conducted for the purpose of admitting students to first year Courses in Engineering, Medical, Dental Courses in Professional colleges in Karnataka State which offers Medical, Dental and Engineering Education are affiliated to the state run Universities.

Karnataka CET Eligibility:-
For Medical / Dental courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2 PUC / 12 std. or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in the PCB group and should secure a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in PCB subjects in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in PCB group both in Qualifying Examination and Common Entrance Test.
For Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC/ 12th std. or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and with English as one of the languages of study and have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in PCB group irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in PCB group in the qualifying examination. For admission to Medical / Dental / Ayurveda / Homoeopathy / Unani / Naturopathy & Yoga courses, the candidate should have completed the age of 17 years as on 31st of December 2012.
For Engineering / Technology courses, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2 PUC / 12 Std. or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology as optional subjects with English as one of the languages of study and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects, irrespective of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test. In case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.
For Architecture course, the applicant should have passed Karnataka 2 PUC / 12 Std. or equivalent examination with Mathematics as a compulsory optional subject and obtained a minimum of 50% of marks in aggregate in all the subjects in the qualifying examination (45% of marks in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes (Category-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B)] and should compulsorily appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and get a minimum of 40% in it. (Including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes)
Karnataka CET 2013 Pattern :-
The question paper is of MCQ format and the candidates are asked to chose the best one form the given number of options. The examination is conducted in four different sessions in two days
Paper I: Mathematics (For Engineering and Architecture Candidates)
Paper II: Biology (For the Medical aspirants)
Paper III: Physics (Mandatory for all)
Paper IV: Chemistry (Mandatory for all)
There will be negative marking for the wrong answer and each session carries 60 question with 80 minutes duration.
Karnataka CET 2013 Syllabus:-
Karnataka CET Mathematics Syllabus:-
It consist of Algebra, which includes Theory of Indices and Logarithms, Progressions, Mathematical Induction, Theory of Equations, Permutations and Combinations, Binomial Theorem, Partial Fractions, Elements Of Number Theory and Congruencies, Analytical Geometry and Calculus, Coordinate Geometry, Calculus and Trigonometry.
Karnataka CET Physics Syllabus:-
The syllabus of physics includes the study of Dynamics, Static, Hydrostatics and Hydrodynamics, Heat, and Geometrical Optics.
Karnataka CET Chemistry Syllabus:-
Syllabus includes following topics- Kinetic Theory of Gases, Stochiometry, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding, Electrochemistry, Radioactivity, Organic Chemistry and Environmental Pollution.
Karnataka CET Biology Syllabus:-
The syllabus of biology is divided into two the following parts:-
1.) Botany,
2.) Zoology
Section of Botany consists of following topics- Cell Biology and Genetics, Histology and Plant Anatomy, Diversity of Plant Life on Earth, Introduction to Ecology, and Taxonomy while section of Zoology comprises the study of Tissues of humans, Digestion, Circulation, Respiration, Nervous System, Human Reproduction, Origin Of Life, Organic Evolution, Animal Resources And Human Welfare Dairy, Developmental Biology, Diversity of Animal Life, Study of the Cell and Cell Division.

medical aspirants should not be forced to write NEET.Same exam,same eligibility clause should be continued for the coming years medical entrance exam.and selling of medical seats for lakhs and crores of rupees must be banned since it is injustice.negative marking should not be there

Negative marking is there in CET 2013 for engineering seat the student has to write Karnataka CET 2013 or all india level. The syllabus for Karnataka CET is only this much no no other topics

It is absolute hell for second PUC students as there was a series of leak of question paper and rescheduling of exams and then bycott followed by strict correction of board paper... and now the nightmare of C.E.T. getting postponed and again negative marking ... this year is absolute hell for me...Why the hell is PUC Board acting this year...
