Acharya Nagarjuna University is located in Guntur. It was established in 1976.  ANU has got over 450 affiliated colleges in Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam Districts.

Acharya Nagarjuna University is situated between the cities of Vijayawada and Guntur in Andhra Pradesh on Calcutta and Chennai National Highway (NH-5). Its campus is spread over an area of 293 acres. Besides the campus college, it has two University Postgraduate centres - one each at Nuzvid (Krishna Dt.) and Ongole (Prakasam Dt.). Its affiliation jurisdiction extends over the three districts of Krishna, Guntur and Prakasam of Andhra Pradesh. Acharya Nagarjuna University has been accorded a “B++” rating by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
