On one hand we have scholars in fields like Engineering, Science and Literature; on other hand there are many aspirants who are not lucky enough to pursue higher studies. Keeping this thing in mind, Government of India has taken a bold step by initiating the plan of Distance Education. Post Independence, an extensive range of distance learning centers has been developed across the country. Among all those Alagappa University Distance Education is one that was incepted in the year 1992.

Alagappa University Distance Education is well known for offering wide range of educational programmes to those students who are unable to attend regular lectures in colleges. The Directorate offers under graduate as well as post graduate courses in the field of Management, Computer Science & Application, Education and Languages. Over the years, the Directorate has established an identity of its own by sprawling its network, with more than 206 centers across the world. The directorate enjoys its jurisdiction in many foreign countries such as Bahrain, Qatar, Dubai, Srilanka, Singapore and Malaysia. Alagappa University Distance Education has been accredited with the highest grade ‘A’ by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council).
