Aliah University

Aliah University is loacated at Kolkata. It was established in 1781 as Aliya Madrasah. It become an autonomous university when the Aliah University Act XXVII was passed by the West Bengal Legislative Assembly in 2008.

Aliah University is one of the oldest centres of higher learning and culture, the institution is steeped in history. Many eminent scholars were associated with this institution as administrators, principals, teachers as well as students. All necessary steps are being taken to develop Aliah University as a premier institution of higher learning and research. The process of acquiring land for a beautiful, sprawling, state-of-the-art campus of the University is on. The development of elaborate infrastructure will start as soon as the process is completed.

Aliah University has a library rich in collection of literature in Islamic Theology, Islamic Jurisprudence & Law, and Arabic. The library is now diversifying in the areas of Science, Engineering, Management Science, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Aliah University offers 5-year integrated M.A. in Arabic, Islamic Theology, English, 2-year M.A. in English., M.Sc. in Geography., 5-year integrated M.Sc. in (a) Computer Science, (b) Chemistry (with specialization in Medicinal Chemistry), (c) Physics (with specialization in Engineering Physics), (d) Mathematics & Computing, (e) Statistics & Informatics, (f) Economics, and (g) Geography, 4-year B.Tech. / 5-year dual-degree M.Tech. (Computer Scence & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering)., 5-year integrated MCA,  5-year integrated MBA (with specialization in Hospital Management, Retail Management, and Financial Management), 2-Year M.A. / M.Sc. in Media Science (Journalism & Mass communication)  courses.
