Amrita University

Amrita University or Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is located at Coimbatore, Tamilnadu. It was conferred the status of a University under Section 3 of UGC Act, vide Government of India in 2003. It has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with its highest grade ‘A’. The university is managed by the Mata Amritanandamayi Math. Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Amma, one of the foremost humanitarian leaders in the world today, is Chancellor of the university. Amrita University is a multi-campus and multi-disciplinary teaching cum research university has five campuses spread across three southern states of India - Amritapuri (Kerala), Bangalore (Karnataka), Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Kochi (Kerala), and Mysore (Karnataka). The university's faculty-student ratio of 1:8 is one of the best among all institutions of higher learning in India. Amrita University provides all the requisite facilities in almost all the campuses like wells stocked library with reading room, spacious classrooms equipped with computers, video and overhead projectors, and audio system are available in most of the campuses. State-of-the-art infrastructural facilities viz. air conditioned seminar and conference halls including, auditorium, hostel accommodation for students, hygienic cafeteria, sports facilities including gymnasium, swimming pool, etc.

Amrita University Admission 2012:-

Amrita University conducts entrance exams for admission to many of its bachelors and masters level programs. Nation-wide entrance exams are conducted for B Tech, MBBS, BDS, BAMS and MCA. For many other programs, entrance exams are conducted at the schools' premises.
