Assam University is located in Silchar. It was established in 1994,since then  the University is steadily becoming  an excellent centre of learning. Assam University has more than 600 acres campus, surrounded by lakes and mountains provides  an ideal environment for academic pursuit, situated in Dargakona, about 20 kms from  Silchar. It is a teaching-cum-affiliating University has 230 plus faculty from many disciplines, from all over the country, the university sustains a multidisciplinary approach to higher education. Assam University have as many as 53 Colleges,  which speak of the depth of  the intellectual and educational interests in the  region. The Assam University is set to become a full-fledged residential University in near future creating a better environment  for learning and research  activities. M. Tech. Admission Notice Session 2011-2012

Applications in prescribed form are invited for admission to the Master of Technology (M. Tech.) courses in Agricultural Engineering (for the specialization in Water Resources Development & Management; Aquacultural Engineering; and Farm Machinery & Power Engineering) and in Information Technology under Triguna Sen School of Technology, Assam University, Silchar H. Q. for the academic session commencing in July 2012.

1. 4-Semester M. Tech. courses in the Department of Agricultural Engineering: Candidates should have to obtain at least 50% marks in B. Tech./B.E. (Agricultural Engineering/Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Renewable Energy or relevant fields) or equivalent degrees.

2. 4-Semester M. Tech. courses in the Department of Information Technology: Candidates should have to obtain at least 50% marks in B.E./B.Tech. in IT/CSE.

Candidates may collect Prospectus along with Application Form for the course(s) on payment of 500.00 (for General and OBC students) and 400.00 (for SC/ST students) from the designated counters of Axis Bank at Assam University, Dorgakona and office of Diphu Campus, AUS, on working days upto 3 pm. Additional charge of Rs. 30 will be paid by candidates who preferred to collect prospectus from the branches of Axis Bank at Silchar, Karimganj, Guwahati, Nagoan, Jorhat, Imphal, Dimapur, Aizwal, Shillong, Agartala, Dharmanagar, Siliguri, Kolkata, Burdwan, Delhi, Allabahad, Hyderabad and also from N.C. College, Badarpur, S.S. College, Hailakandi, Janata College, Kabuganj & M C D college, Sonai.

The form may also be downloaded from University website www.aus.ac.in and submitted along with an application fee of 500.00 (for General and OBC students) and 400.00 (for SC/ST students) through D.D. / Banker Cheque in favour of Finance Officer, Assam University Silchar payable at Silchar.

Last date of receipt of admission form : 10th June 2012.
Date of publication of list of eligible candidates for written test : 30th June 2012.
Issue of Admit Card to the candidates : 1st July 2012 to 11 AM of 3rd July 2012.
Admission test date : 3rd July 2012.
Publication of list of candidates qualified for interview : 7th July 2012.
Personal Interview : 12th July 2012.
