The thought of study and to get educated is good indication, but one can’t pursue it without proper facilities. It was a stain that was erased after the introduction of Distance Education Learning in India. In past 4-5 decades, Government of India has pumped up more funds to establish Distance Learning Centers across the Country.
Infact, Bharathiar University in Coimbatore developed its center for distance education in the year 1991. In order to cater the need of education in the remotest areas, the Directorate launched 202 study centers scattered over 23 states of India. Over the years, Bharathiar University Distance Education has gained a huge appraisal for covering almost the entire gamut of professional education through distance mode. Presently, the directorate offers both under graduate as well as post graduate courses in Science, Arts, Commerce, Computer Applications, Languages and Business Management. The examinations for these distance education courses are held in major study centers in the month of May/June and November/ December every year.
Bharathiar University Distance Education Admissions 2012-2013 Important Dates / Notification:-
Last date for submission of Application 30-09-2012
The cost of application form and prospectus is Rs 100/- for all the courses except for Executive MBA, the cost of which is Rs 300/-
Application form and prospectus can be had from the spot admission centres and city centre/school of distance education, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore
Application forms can be obtained by post on enclosing a demand draft for Rs 150/- for all the courses and Rs 350/- for the Executive MBA and requisition with a self-addressed envelop of size 30x24 cms or can be downloaded from the university website.

Bharathiar University Distance MBA:- The MBA Programmes designed by Bharathiar University are unique in nature with a variety of specializations. In addition to the regular MBA programme 13 MBA Programmes with a variety of specialization are offered
MBA Specialization:-Marketing Management, Tourism and Hotel Management, Financial Management, Hospital Management, Investment Management, International Business, Human Resources Management, Retail Management, Information System Management, Financial Services, Entrepreneurship, Services Management, Export Management.
Duration:- 2 years
Eligibility:- A pass in any degree
Bharathiar University Distance MCA:
Duration:- 3 years
Eligibility:- A pass in any degree with Mathematics at +2 level or any degree with atleast one paper in Mathematics or Statistics at degree level.
BBA / BCom:-
Duration:- 3 years
Eligibility:- HSC passed/Polytechnic Diploma awarded by State Board of Technical Education, Govt. of Tamilnadu.
Bharathiar University Distance Education B.Ed:-
Admission will be conducted on 13.06.2011 for all the Tamil Candidates.
Admission will be conducted on 14.06.2011 for all other Subjects ( English,Maths,Science,Social Science,Computer Science,Economics,Commerce)
