IIT Patna was established in 2008. It is locates at Patna is the capital of the state of Bihar.
IIT Patna is currently offering B.Tech programs in three disciplines - Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The annual sanctioned strength of B.Tech is 120. The Ph.D. programs in Engineering, Science and Humanities & Social Sciences have started from July 2009 and current number of Ph.D. students is 58. IIT Patna has recruited 53 faculty members and 27 staff members in various departments. IIT Patna has collaboration with the University of Houston, USA, Louisiana State University, USA , University of New South Wales, Austraila and UNICEF.
Admission to all Undergraduate Programmes of IIT Patna are made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
