About the University

Indira Gandhi Agricultural University- IGKV is located at Raipur, Chhattisgarh. It was established in 1987. It is an autonomous, nonprofit, research and educational organization dedicated for the upliftment in farmer's livelihood of Chhattisgarh. Education, Research and Extension are the major activities coordinated through agriculture, veterinary, dairy and agricultural engineering faculties and Directorate of Instruction, Research and Extension. Grant in aid is received from ICAR and State Government to meet out the mandates of the University. Beside this some international and other agencies also giving grants to fulfil various mandates need based objectives of the State agriculture and allied sectors.
