About the University
|
|
Punjab University is located at Chandigarh. It was established in 1882. It is One of the oldest Universities in India. Punjab University campus is spread over an area of 550 acres (2.2 km2) in sectors 14 and 25 of the city of Chandigarh. The University has 75 teaching and research departments and 15 Centers/Chairs for teaching and research at the main campus located at Chandigarh. Punjab University has 188 affiliated colleges spread over Punjab and having one rural Regional Centre at Kauni, and 3 Regional Centres at Muktsar, Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur.

Punjab University conduct different entrance exam for different courses.
Punjab University B.Ed Admission 2012:- Punjab University conducting Entrance Test for admission in B.Ed. (Regular) for UT Colleges and B.Ed. (Correspondence for in-service Teachers only) on 17.07.2012 (Sunday) and Availability of Prospectus/Application forms starts form 2nd week of May-2012
Punjab University Ph.D. Admission 2012:- Punjab University conducting Entrance Test for admission in PH.D. on 24.07.2012 (Sunday) and Availability of Prospectus/Application forms starts form 2nd week of May-2012.
Punjab University MBA Admission 2012:- The University will hold Entrance Test on 27th March, 2012 (Sunday) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon for admission to following courses for the academic session 2012-2012
Punjab University Distance Education:-
Punjab University School of Open Learning was established in 1971. It is now a full-fledged USOL with due representation on all University bodies. Supported by a well qualified, research oriented faculty and efficient staff, the USOL offers 28 courses i.e. Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma and Professional Courses.
Punjab University School of Open Learning offers a variety of student support services. These include a well equipped Library, postal library facilities, an Educational Media Centre, Laboratories, a Computer Lab and subsidized hostel facility for outstation students.
