Shivaji University

Shivaji University is located at Kolhapur. It was established in 1962. The University is spread over three districts viz. Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara with strength of about 2,00,000 students studying in 225 affiliated colleges and recognised institutes. Shivaji University imparts education in 10 major faculties of Arts, Social Science, Science, Commerce, Education, Fine Arts, Law, Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, Engineering and Technology. Shivaji University has been re-accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) Bangalore, with B grade (2009).

Shivaji University is having 7 hostels for Boys and Girls of Post-Graduate Departments of the University. Facilities of recreation, indoor & outdoor games are available for students of Hostel along with other routine things. The Barr. B. Khardekar library of Shivaji University is one of the leading university libraries in Southern Maharashtra. It has over 3.1 lakhs printed documents and it subscribes to over 298 national and international journals. The University's efforts towards excellence are being recognised by the substantial grants received from funding agencies like UGC, DST, DBT etc. The another indicator of recognition of University is collaborations with premier institutes in the country. Shivaji University has recently signed MOU with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai for research in Material Science. It has also joined hands with Indian Institute of Geo-Magnetism, Mumbai and industries like Phyto-Pharma. Prestigious institutes like Maharashtra Police Academy, Nashik and Centre for Social Studies, Surat have sought affiliation with the Shivaji University.

Shivaji  University Admission 2012:-

Shivaji  University PhD / M.Phil  Admission 2012:-  Admission of Shivaji  University PhD / M.Phil Programs through M.Phil / Ph.D Entrance Exam conducted by the University.

Shivaji  University M.Ed Admission 2012:- Admission of Shivaji  University M.Ed courses through Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Government of Maharashtra. The CET Prospectus with CET Syllabus and CET Application form can be obtained from the MKCL Centers.

M.Tech Admission 2012:- Candidates seeking admission to M.Tech courses should have passed B.E./B.Tech or equivalent degree in the subject concerned from a recognized University/ Institution with 50% aggregate marks (of all the years) or equivalent CGPA. In case of SC/ST and Physically Challenged (PC) candidates 45% aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA is the eligibility requirement.

Shivaji University Distance Education:-

Centre for Distance Education - Shivaji University was recognized by Distance Education Council, New Delhi. It offers B.a, B.Com, MSc Maths, M.A, M.Com, Executive MBA, Master of Valuation (Real Estate) courses.
